LSKC accepts children that are going into 1st grade up to children going into 8th grade.
The children are placed into age appropriate groups led by a counselor. We do a lot as a whole camp, as well as activities that are for a particular age group. There are 6 groups total, and groups of 2 share a classroom that functions as their home base.
IS FOOD PROVIDED?*
Unfortunately, due to health guidelines, we are not doing Indy Parks this summer and lunches needs to be brought from home.
We've partnered with Indy Parks and will be providing FREE breakfast and lunch to all campers. On any day, campers are still welcome to bring their own lunches.
WHAT IS CAMP LIFE LIKE?
This summer we will not be leaving the premise grounds for field trips. Instead, we will bring these activities to the premise for the kids to enjoy.
Throughout the summer we go on 2-3 field trips a week, usually on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On those days we go to different places such as the bowling, museums, skating and more. Fridays are swim days, and we go to one of two aquatic centers in the city. Wednesdays are our movie days, and we stay at camp and watch a movie on the big screen and the kids may bring money to buy refreshments and snacks. Throughout the week we have 16 clubs for the campers to choose from. Additionally, we have 4 Wild Card Clubs, which are special clubs that are featured on select weeks for the campers to sign up for. If that wasn't enough, we even offer "SWAN rotations," which is an acronym for Science & Song, Writing & Work out, Art & Arithmetic, and Nature & Nurture. Other than that we play games, sports, have theme days, and overall have a fantastic summer.
WHAT ITEMS SHOULD BE BROUGHT FROM HOME?
These items should be brought to camp either the first day or everyday, depending on what it is (Please make sure your child's name is on it.):
Lunch (if desired for the times we will be off site)
Notebook for Journal
Please ask your child to leave all toys & games at home as they may be lost or stolen. They may even be disruptive to the program (especially electronic games). MONEY should only be brought on Movie Days. Also, please use your discretion when deciding how much to allow your child to bring each day. It is recommended each camper brings no more than $10 each day. However, if you choose to send them with more than $10, please let a staff member know.
